A waffle cup, reimagined in clay. This handmade ceramic bowl is wheel-thrown, then finished with a soft ruffled rim and a waffle texture carved into the clay one square at a time, by hand.
Holds two generous scoops, with room for a third on top if you're feeling it. Roughly 5 to 6 inches wide and 3 to 4 inches tall.
The ruffles are more than pretty; tuck your thumb and finger just beneath them and you've got a comfortable, no-cold-hands hold. And like the waffle cone, the carved waffle is left unglazed on purpose, so it keeps the matte, textured feel of the real thing and stays easy to grip even as your ice cream melts and the bowl sweats, exactly where a glossy surface would turn slippery. A few soft glaze drips on the waffle nod to the first hint of a melt. Beautiful and considered, down to how it feels in your hand.

Each piece is wheel-thrown, hand-altered, reduction fired, and glazed in two different glazes, once all over and once more while I hold it at the alteration point, leaving my handprint. The glaze breaks differently every time. No two tumblers will ever look alike.
Colorways fall within three feeling families: sanctuary, hearth, and space. Each a place of refuge, somewhere you return to, somewhere that holds you, somewhere that feels like home. Or you can get something else entirely that defies categorization if you choose mystery. Either way it will be stunning!
If you've fallen in love with a specific colorway you've seen and want that one made just for you, you can submit a studio commission request. Because of the nature of reduction firing, your piece may have its own expression of that colorway.

A travel cup thrown to move and made for the hands that already know where to go.
The rim curves inward over the top of the opening, all the way around, keeping your drink secure as you carry it without needing a lid. Plus it angles downward, so if anything splashes onto the rim, it slides right back into the cup!
It fits standard cup holders, sits steady in your hand where it was held when the clay was soft, and travels with you the way a good companion does.
The hand-altered waist knows exactly how you'll pick this up. Your thumb finds the indent. Your palm settles into the curve. And the opening meets your lip right where it should. The body then narrows where your hand wraps it naturally; finally a cup that holds you back and doubles as a grip! It's the difference between holding a cup and holding your cup.
